Street Artist Olek Hits Astor Place in New York City
Hey ya'll, After working with Olek on a PBS Off Book episode, she asked me if I would shoot an upcoming project. Once she told me what it was, I said sure! Then she told me she would be doing the work at 4:30am. :) It's 8:52am right now in New York as I write this, and I shot the video from 4:30am to around 4:50am. Rapid turnaround, early and often. I hope you enjoy seeing Olek and her crew at work, and if you know New York, you'll get a kick out of seeing the "Astor Place Cube" all dressed up. Ben Cramer Agata
Ben Cramer (Amsterdam, 17 februari 1947) is een Nederlandse levensliedzanger en musicalster. Eigenlijk is zijn achternaam Kramer, maar hij schrijft het met een C omdat dat internationaal praktischer is. In 1966 maakt Cramer samen met zijn begeleidingsgroep The Sparklings zijn televisiedebuut bij het NCRV-programma Twien. Hij wordt ontdekt door zangeres Annie de Reuver. Aan het einde van 1967 scoort hij met zijn eerste single meteen een hit: Zai Zai Zai bereikt de zevende plaats in de Veronica Top 40. In 1971 scoort hij zijn bekendste hit met De clown. Ondanks dat het nummer in de hitparade blijft steken op de 15e plaats, groeit het uit tot een klassieker. Op 7 april 1973 vertegenwoordigt hij Nederland op het Eurovisie Songfestival in Luxemburg met het door Pierre Kartner geschreven De oude muzikant. Cramer eindigt als veertiende van de zeventien deelnemers. Cramer scoort in de jaren zeventig nog regelmatig een bescheiden hitje. Na 1980 neemt het succes echter af en floppen zijn platen stuk voor stuk. In 1982 zat hij in de jury van het Nationaal Songfestival. Daarin stemde hij als één van de weinigen voor het lied Fantasy island wat door het publiek in dank werd afgenomen.. In 1989 staat hij voor het eerst als musicalster op de planken als hij de rol van Juan Peron vertolkt in de musical Evita van Andrew Lloyd Webber. Vervolgens speelt Cramer onder meer in de musical Chicago (1991-1992) en is hij van 1993 tot 1996 vierhonderd keer te zien als de titelfiguur in The Phantom <b>...</b>
