NVIDIA Geforce LAN 6 Custom Case Mods: Tron Light Cycle
Logan concludes his journey into the fray of the bring your own PC section of the USS Hornet at the NVIDIA Geforce LAN 6 with one hell of a case mod. The Tron Light Cycle case built by Brian Carter has been turning heads all weekend, and it is quite the specimen. Brian drew up the design and laser cut everything from the case to the bezel of his monitor to be fully customized as a Light Cycle. The case itself holds a EVGA X58 motherboard with 2 GTX 580's in SLI and was designed around a full ATX case to be shaped as a bike. A curved water cooling system adds to the list of customized parts as well as a hidden power supply and SSD array. All in all it was the team's pick for best case in show as well as NVIDIA's if we heard correctly, so hope you guys and gals enjoyed these Custom Case Mod videos.

I took time in this and if you are wondering why I made the fan and light turn on even when I wasn't actually playing on the PS2, it's because I wanted it to. Yes it doesnt overheat but why cant i put one there for aesthetics?

If you got some time to burn, oh I don't know, about 50 hours and about 1500 wooden cubes this is what you get. This is a Home Theater PC *HTPC*. It has only one fan and is quite capable at gaming if it is needed to. I will be doing more 8-bit computer cases but it will probably not be for a little bit :D. Pelican Case MOD - Live Setup
Inspired by lack of adequate space at clubs and venues for electronic musicians, this rig requires only floor space and a single power outlet. The setup consists of a modified pelican case that enables the rack mounting of equipment. This means I can be setup and ready to play in under 4 minutes. Hardware includes Virus Snow, Virus C, M-Audio Audiophile, Numark CM200USB 5 Channel Mixer, Novation SL25 Compact, iPod + TouchOSC. The custom patch bay includes XLR Lamp XLR & RCA OUT, RCA IN to Channel 5 fader, RCA IN to input on Virus C, RCA IN to line in on m-audio. I decided to use the M-Audio Audiophile as the primary sound device over the the inbuilt USB audio in the Numark CM200USB. The reasoning for this was purely down recording latency and routing configurations. I do however have the CM200USB and the M-Audio set up as a aggregate device in OSX, enabling me to speak to both devices from Ableton. The TouchOSC patch is a custom one built using the beta TouchOSC editor. A quick explanation of the Audio routing page in the TouchOSC template. This page was created only yesterday as a way to easily route audio to the Atomizer on the fly. I simply created 2 Sends channels and routed all Audio to SENDS ONLY in Ableton. Then assigned the individual SENDS dials to each button, effectively creating on off switched. This enables me to easily select the output I would like a track to take. Finished about 2 weeks ago. This is my first case mod of any sort and the first time I actually made something. I had to pretty much buy/borrow stuff as I needed it b/c I don't have any tools in my studio apartment :D. I had the idea for this case in January but did not order the wood until late june and began the recording. This is about 50-60 hours of video into 8 minutes. I put alot of unrecorded hours in also. Not positive on total time spent on this case. My goal was to make it look 8 bit from any side you look at it. I've had some remarks that it resembles the wizard from super mario bro's which is understandable with the rod and all. For ventilation I have the fan on back putting air in and the fan on bottom pushes warm air out. PSU also faces down toward the bottom fan. I know heat rises but with fans this big they move alot of air and are quiet. I have a Q6600 inside and temps are at 33c idle on cores. cpu fan is the only loud part of system which im thinking of adjusting. Note: Not a fan of this song but youtube doesn't have many options for 10 minutes unfortunately.
