Land Rover Philippines 60th year event held in Eton City Santa Rosa Laguna. This was the biggest off road event done by Land Rover Philippine Importer and Dealer, LRPHILS MOTORS, Inc. It was a 3 day event from 21-23 November 2008. The test track was said to be one of the most if not the most extreme ever done in the Philippines for such an event. On the field was the complete line of vehicles: Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery 3, Freelander, Defender 110, and Defender 90. PUMA, not the animal, but Land Rover Defender 90" 2,4L (MY2010). This engine is from the Ford Duratorq range the V6 version is used in the Discovery 3. This 2.4l Defender version is similar to the unit used in the Ford Transit van. The engine is called PUMA.

This is an update of how things have gone since I bought this motor in February 2009. I was disappointed in the motor and thoroughly annoyed with Land Rover Assistance. Not the back up expected from a premier 4x4 maker. I have had 41 Land Rovers of varying types, and I will always have one. But not a new one for a long long long long long time!
I got stuck in a field using this tri-axel trailer and a Td5 90. Partly due to the jockey wheel not being stowed properly by the person who hitched the trailer up & also due to the 90 having bog standard 205x16 road tyres on it! I swapped the 90 for mine Defender and tested the ability of the "anti stall" to see if it had any guts? and it had!
