Levon Helm of The Band Dead After Cancer Battle
UPDATE: Levon Helm is reportedly dead after a battle with cancer at the age of 71. www.spinner.com Fans and musicians around the globe are sending positive vibes toward The Band's Levon Helm, after his family announced via the legendary drummer's website that he was losing a battle to cancer. Helm—whose no-trappings tenor can be heard on some of The Band's biggest hits, like "The Weight" and "Up On Cripple Creek"—was first diagnosed with throat cancer a decade ago, for which he went under intensive radiation treatments. But the musician continued to perform, host events and record bands at his studio in Woodstock, NY. He also appeared in films over the years, including The Right Stuff and Coal Miner's Daughter, playing the father of country music star Loretta Lynn. A message from Helm's family said "Please send your prayers and love to him as he makes his way through this part of his journey." Many fans are doing just that on Twitter today, by sharing links to clips of his music.

This video is being posted on the official Rammstein site: www.rammstein.com We'd like to thank most commentators; kids are happy that their work is rewarded with appreciation. There are other commentators, some simply nasty or others honestly concerned, which we'd like to answer here. 1. No! the kids are not being pushed or forced to play. While we consider that music should be part of their education, the priority is that they should enjoy their childhood. That is why they practice only 1 hr daily. They are also home-schooled and have a lot of time to study what, when and how they want it. And also freedom to play. The results have been way beyond expectations. 2. We don't like stardom, don't want kids to be stars and all that circus. They are not very technical (just because are not being forced to practice a lot), but their performances are still pretty good, and particularly Sonne is quite outstanding. Their charm can be explained by their freedom of expression. 3. Why they don't look very happy and smiling? One explanation is that they are tense trying the recording to come out good. Also this type of music is not entertainment. They don't like 'shake-butt' music. They listen to music a lot and they choose.
