Watch it in full 1080p HD The 7 Flushing Local and 7 Flushing Express are rapid transit services of the New York City Subway, providing local and express services along the full length of the IRT Flushing Line. The services are colored purple on station signs, route signs, and the official subway map, with local service denoted by a 7 in a circular logo, and express service by a 7 in a diamond-shaped logo. Local service operates at all times. Express service runs weekdays from 6:30 to 10:00 am going to Times Square and 3:00 to 10:00 pm (15:00 to 22:00) going to Flushing -- Main Street. "Super Express" service to Manhattan is also provided after New York Mets games weeknights and weekends at Citi Field and US Open (tennis) games: starting at Mets -- Willets Point and operating express to Times Square, also bypassing Junction Boulevard, Hunters Point Avenue and Vernon Boulevard -- Jackson Avenue. The 7 service operates with 11-car trains, more than any other New York City Subway route. The 7 has been nicknamed the "International Express," because the route travels through several different ethnic neighborhoods populated by US immigrants, especially along Roosevelt Avenue. This name is not official, nor is the title used in day to day operations.

Here's some video I shot of the 2009 "Appanoose County Train Ride" event held in Moravia, Iowa. Each year, the Appanoose County Community Railroad, or APNC for short, operates excursion trains on the second weekend in July. With several departures throughout the weekend, the train carries passengers on a seventy-minute train ride from the old Wabash depot in Moravia, and north up the APNC's line to Albia, where the railroad links to the BNSF railroad mainline. This video features highlights of the first half of the trip up the line to Albia, and a little of the trip back south to the Highway 34 grade crossing. After I rode the train, me and my family chased it up to Albia, so I've spliced in some of the trackside shots of the train as well! The cars are open-air, originally flatcars, converted to excursion service in the 1920's-30's by the Southern Railroad. The locomotive pulling the trains this year is the APNC's GP7 diesel #116, one of only two units owned by the railroad. The engine was built in 1951 and was originally owned by the Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad (the "Katy").

I was sitting on the right hand side of the 4:16 pm train. As I was getting off the plane I noticed two burly New Jersey Transit Policemen in full uniform. They approached me and asked me about my filming. I explained I like to take photos and videos and post them on the web. The one policeman asked me a few more question and wanted my address in case they needed to follow up with me, so I gave them my card. They said it was completely fine to have taken the video and it was fine for me to post it on the web. Is That Odd?

Thomas and his friends now have their very own home at Drayton Manor Park. The narrow gauge models of Thomas, Percy and Rosie are used on a miniature railway takes visitors through Thomas Land. The line features Tidmouth Sheds, where stationary models are kept, Knapford Station, which serves as the main station and a refreshment stand, Dryaw, and Tidmouth Hault. It also has many sidings and sheds along the way, one of which carries a sleeping model of James. Thomas Land is a themed area at Drayton Manor Theme Park in Staffordshire, England, based on the TV series Thomas and Friends. It stands on the former site of Robinsons Land, a themed area sponsored by the soft drinks brand of the same name. The construction began while the park was still open in September 2007, and many of the Robinsons Land rides were moved to other areas of the park for the remainder of the season. All but the Veteran Cars (now Sodor's Classic Cars) were removed and sold to Funland at Hayling Island. Thomas Land officially opened to the public on 15 March 2008.

Here's a video I am about two years behind in editing and uploading. On March 14, 2008, I was allowed to ride the Fun Train to catch video. I already uploaded other videos from these rides on this channel including Grandma Rap and the Funatics, the on-board band. In this video I spent most of the time hanging out the vestibule of the Plaza Santa Fe as we went over Donner Pass in a snowstorm. Enjoy the ride! The Fun Train and the Snow Train run every year in February and March, check out the Key Holidays website for more info. To be clear, this is not a ride on the Amtrak California Zephyr, it's a chartered train that runs in addition to the California Zephyr. There are Amtrak single level cars plus several private cars, including the Plaza Santa Fe, the Rio Grande Royal Gorge, the Overland Trail, and on the return trip the Tolani and the City of Angels.

A northbound ride along part of the little used New North Main Line between Paddington and South Ruislip, plus the GW+GC joint line on to West Ruislip. Filmed on Sunday 7th October 1990 during a temporary closure of Marylebone station when trains were being diverted to Paddington instead. The closure was from 22nd September 1990 to 7th October 1990. Nowadays (June 2011) there are two 'parliamentary' trains a day on this route (one each way) , with them both perfectly timed to not attract too much patronage whilst keeping the line's legal status as 'open'. The southbound train arrives at Paddington just after 2am and the northbound train departs at 11.36am. Whether the times are changed in the next timetable remains to be seen. If it is ever built this line will become part of the route of HS2 - the London / Northern England high speed railway.

A ride on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line from Ikebukuro Station to Nerima. This video was taken behind the front operator's cab allowing the viewer to experience what the driver sees. Ikebukuro is a major rail hub in Tokyo with links to JR's Yamanote Line, Saikyo Line, Shonan-Shinjuku Line, and the Tobu Tojo Line. The Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line is a newly completed subway line which is also accessed here, as well as the Seibu Yurakucho Line subway, Tokyo Metro Yūrakuchō Line subway, and the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line subway. It is an amazing underground labrynth with access to the Mitsukoshi, Seibu/Parco, and Tobu department stores as well as to the city at large which houses several other retailers and attractions like Bic Camera, Tokyu Hands, and the Sunshine 60 building. Nerima Station features access to a small branch of the Seibu Ikebukuro Line which terminates at Toshimaen, a popular Tokyo amusement park. The Seibu Yurakucho Line subway, and the Toei Oedo Line subway are also a part of Nerima Eki. Many years ago the station was at ground level, but today it is a huge elevated complex with a large grocery store underneath the platforms. As a young teenager I used to enjoy riding my bicycle up to the grade crossings on either side of the old Nerima Eki, put the kickstand down and just watch all of the trains go by. I miss the old station, and the yellow trains.

STORY: Electric trains linking Jakarta and its neighboring towns are packed with passengers during rush hour. To avoid paying, many stand in between the carriages or sit on the roof of the train. After several failed attempts to discourage the roof riders, the state owned railway company decided to spray them with colored liquid. This way, the officers can identify them when they get off the train. [Akhmad Sujadi, Regional Spokesman, State Railway], "Actually, spraying will help identify and capture the people who ride on top of the train. If not, they will mingle with other passengers after they get off the train and makes it very difficult to get them." Some passengers have mixed feelings towards the move. Although illegal, roof riding is rampant in Jakarta. It's due to a lack of efficient and affordable means of transport.
