DIY: Wrapping Rims in Matte Black Vinyl
I wanted to try a new style for my winter rims, and instead of pinting them i wrapped them in vinyl, Costs about $10 a rim. This short video shows you how to wrap a rim quickly(sped up 3x), There really is no downfall to doing this, faster and cheaper then painting, the vinyl only weighs .4 ounces or about 50 grams. and thats spread out throughout the rim and if you dont like it then just peal it off. Vinyl Fence Installation Tips: Installing Posts and Panels
Lowe's home improvement expert, Mike Kraft, demonstrates how to properly install vinyl fence posts and panels. Learn some valuable tricks to make sure that your vinyl fence is sturdy and straight. First, find out which side you need to place the fence brackets on. Then, mark and attach with screws. If you are using a stair step method of fencing, adjust the screws accordingly. After setting up the brackets, you can begin to lay your first vinyl fence post. Place a bed of gravel in the post hole for drainage and then set the post against your layout measurements with a clamp. Follow up by filling the hole with concrete. Make sure you don't completely fill the hole, as you might want to place soil on top later. Once the cement is set, put the vinyl fence panel in place. Then, you can continue your fence by sliding the posts into the panels and attaching with screws. Finish off with concrete in each post hole. Vinyl Fence Installation Tips: Attaching the Gate
Lowe's home improvement expert, Mike Kraft, shows how to install a vinyl gate when building a new fence. First, measure the clearance for the gate and hinges. Lay a wooden board on the ground to mark where the gate will be, and then mark the position of the next post. Dig the hole and set the post inside. After filling with concrete, it is time to install the gate hardware. Make sure to attach all gate hinges before hanging the actual vinyl gate. Once the hardware is in place, set the gate on wood blocks to the desired height. To finish off the gate, screw in the hinges, handle and latch lever. The only steps remaining in the fence installation process is adding vinyl fence post caps. Simply insert vinyl cement inside the post cap and place on top of your fence posts. A few minutes in the oven and you can have a bowl that will be a real conversation piece. To complete this How-To you will need: A vinyl LP An oven-proof bowl with about a 9-inch diameter A cookie sheet Pot holders or oven mitts Rubber gloves Step 1: Choose an album Choose an album. Then do a quick internet search of the title to make sure you don't melt a rare LP that's worth big bucks. Step 2: Preheat oven Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Warning: Do not exceed 200 degrees Fahrenheit, or the record will release toxic fumes into your oven. Step 3: Heat the record Place the bowl upside-down on the cookie sheet, center the record on top of it, and put it in the oven. Step 4: Let it soften Let the LP soften until it begins to droop around the bowl, about five to eight minutes. Step 5: Remove from heat When the record feels pliable, use pot holders or oven mitts to lift the cookie sheet out of the oven and turn the bowl over. Place the record inside it. Tip: Be careful!
